Hands-on partnership is how we help organizations and leaders do their best work.

A people-centered, participatory, and justice-rooted approach is what makes our work effective and enduring.

Our Approach

Participatory & People-Centered

Our work is grounded in a deep belief that the people we partner with already hold the skills, wisdom, vision, and capacity to lead effective
organizations, solve complex problems, and create meaningful change. Our role is to create the conditions for that wisdom to emerge by facilitating collective analysis, shared learning, clear action planning, and collective reflection. Through this process, people take ownership of solving their own challenges, shaping the right plans, and finding new ways of working together for the health of the whole. This hands-on, participatory approach reflects how rural communities have always worked side by side, in relationship, for the common good.

Innovative, Curious, & Always Learning

We love our work, and we love to learn. This means we stay up to date on cutting-edge tools and proven methods while continually reflecting on and learning from our daily practice. Innovation at RSP is not about chasing trends. It is about applying what works. We bring creative solutions, fresh ideas, and new ways of working that strengthen day-to-day practice and help solve long-standing challenges.

Practical Tools Build To Last

We are experts at taking complex ideas and processes and making them simple, clear, and easy to use. Our work is designed to support rural people doing real work. We know that every additional step creates another barrier to usability. That is why we translate big-picture thinking into practical tools, clear processes, and actionable next steps that teams can apply in their day-to-day work. This means our work sticks, and leaders and organizations continue to use what we build together for years to come.

Rooted in Dignity and Fairness

We care deeply about the dignity, health, and well-being of rural people and the places we all call home. We have also seen what happens when people and places are overlooked, undervalued, excluded, or held back by unfair practices and systems shaped by racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, and other forms of oppression. When these forces are present, they limit what is possible for individuals, organizations, and communities.

In our work, we pay close attention to these dynamics and name them when they show up. We work alongside our clients to understand how unfair and unjust practices shape their people and their work. We also create space to explore where these practices come from and how they often operate in ways that are hard to see. Together, we find ways forward that are more just and fair, and rooted in dignity and care.
